The counseling office knows you are looking for a job this summer, Mustangs, and we have the perfect opportunity for you! This Saturday, you can score a great job at any of the businesses below, and they are going to be hiring on the spot! Dress professionally and get ready to build that resume.
If you are interested in foods, making ice cream, and having an amazing spring experience, check out TIC-GUMS Ice Cream University!
Ice Cream University is an opportunity for college-bound students with an interest in science or marketing to learn about the science of food. During the five week course, students will experience hands-on instruction from members of the Cornell University Department of Food Science, food scientists and food marketing professionals. The course is modeled after the Food Science 101 course taught to all first-year food science majors at Cornell University. Students will meet every Saturday for five weeks, beginning April 7, 2017, to develop and produce a unique ice cream while learning and applying food science principles.
Students will work in teams and at the end of the program, each team will present their ice cream to a panel of experts. Groups will then be judged on the quality of their ice cream and marketing proposal. Tentative judges include representatives from Cornell University, Kate Dalham owner of Bloom’s Broom Dairy, and representatives from Harford County Public Schools and food science professionals.

Well Mustangs, the selective, paid internship program in engineering called the RISE program at APG is back again and looking for more students from CMW to participate. Read a description of the program below, and then take the time to fill out the attached application ASAP!
"The RISE Intern Program is a paid internship opportunity for rising eleventh and twelfth grade students (16 years of age on or before July 1, 2018) from Harford County Public Schools (HCPS), Cecil County Public Schools (CCPS), Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) and Baltimore City Public Schools (BalCityPS).
The RISE Program provides a one-of-a-kind, in-lab experience to students who have an interest in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), but who might otherwise lack resources or inroads to opportunities. Program participants work directly with professional engineers, mathematicians, scientists and IT Specialists to complete results oriented research and testing projects.
In addition to the technical skills that students develop within the labs and the professional relationships that they build with mentors and teammates, students also complete an eight-hour leadership curriculum written specifically to address the needs of future professionals and leaders."
The Maryland Air National Guard will be hosting a free lunch and seminar to let students and families know about what they can offer in terms of work and opportunities. They are hoping to have students and their legal guardians attend the event so that they can learn and demystify the process for all. To attend, please register in advance by emailing the woman in the poster below. Click the image for more details!
